My name is Jóhannes Damian R. Patreksson. I’m a 23-year-old artist from Iceland, best known as one half of the duo JóiPé x Króli. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I released my first track, “Ég vil það”, at 16, which kicked off my journey in the Icelandic pop scene. Then in 2017, everything changed with “B.O.B.A.” — a track that went viral overnight and put me and Króli on the map, breaking streaming records and earning awards from both the Icelandic Music Awards and the People’s Choice.

After that, it was a whirlwind of touring, releasing music, and growing as both a duo and solo artist. But over time, my interests started to shift. I wanted to try new things.

In 2023, I graduated from the Iceland University of the Arts with a BA in New Media Music and started diving into theatre and film scoring. Writing music for stage productions and student films opened up a whole new creative space for me. I come from a background in painting, so composition has always felt visual — I think of music in terms of space, mood, and color. Each note is a brushstroke.
